Saturday night the ticket sellers closed shop after 9000 admissions were sold. Admissions were up from last year, according to Lester Houck, secretary treasurer of the Penn sylvania Tractor Pullers Association, and entries were just about double last year’s figures. The number of competitors, in fact, was just about doubled from 1974. The Saturday afternoon crowd watched a total of 91 tractors competing for the prize money. Pennsylvania pullers gave a fair account of themselves in competition with some of the best tractor pullers in the nation. Les Houck, who lives at Kinzers Rl, took home the $750 first prize money for the 9000-lb. modified class. Michael Wright, a York Co untian from New Freedom, took second place honors in the 12,000-lb. super stock and 9000-lb. super stock, and fourth place in 12,000-lb. open competition. Dale Smoker, Cochran ville, finished ahead of the pack in the 5000-lb. super stock class. Lee Hawthorn, Greenville, took third place in 5000-lb. modified, and Lester Landis, Lititz, finished third in 9000-lb. modified competition.
