Because of the demand for
cabin reservations, the State
Parks Bureau uses a lottery
like system to determine
who may rent the cabins.
Applications for cabin
rentals for the summer
season are to be mailed to
the appropriate Park Office
and will be numbered con
secutively as they are
received.
Shortly after April 1, each
Park office will receive a list
of random numbers deter
mined by a computerized
program. Applications are
approved according to the
numbers on the random list.

the head of the computerized
list, applications bearing
number 168 at each of the
Parks with cabins would be
awarded the first reser
vation.
This week Park
superintendents are
awarding reservations for
the Spring rental season
which begins April 14 and
continues to the first
Saturday after Memorial
Day.
Applications were
received during the past two
months and numbered
sequentially. A different
random list of numbers
selected by the computer
program is used to award the
Spring rentals.
Pennsylvania residents
receive preference in renting
cabins during this period by
means of a separate drawing
just for Pennsylvania
residents. Any cabin
vacancy which exists after
residents’ applications have
been completed is made
