"Two years ago I couldn't get Bertha
bred. I almost sent her to the meat pen,
but decided to give Super Micro a
chance. She settled and this past year she
gave 20,543 pounds milk. On her last
lactation she settled the first time I bred
her. She freshened on Nov. 10, 1974, was
tested Dec. 13, 1974 with 101,1 pounds
milk, and on Jan. 2, 1975 with 118.8
pounds of milk. This is the highest 1 ever
had in my life."

AGRI KING CONGRATULATES
“We were asked what we thought of the Agrl King
feeding program and if we thought we were receiving any
benefits from it. I had to think back to how it started. In
November 1972 our milk tester introduced the program to
us. It sounded foolish to us because we didn't believe we
could get more milk. At the time we were shipping 57
pounds milk per cow per day on milking cows and in
December 1972 our rolling herd average was 14,610
pounds milk and 537 pounds fat. However, we did have a
lot of problems we would have liked to get rid of. The cows
wouldn’t hold production for any length of time, they
retained their afterbirth, and had a lot of milk fever.
I always thought good cows got milk fever, but I changed
my mind. It isn't necessary for cows to get milk fever if you
feed them a balanced ration. I find that if we have problems
now, it is my fault.

Bertha almost went to the meat pen!
What amazes me is how the cows hold high production
throughout the year. In the past 13 months we had 6 solid
months over 60 pounds milk per cow per day on milking
cows, and 6 months between 50 pounds and 60 pounds of
milk. Only one month had production under 50 pounds of
milk and that was 49.7 pounds. In December 1974 our
rolling herd average was 18,816 pounds milk and 652
pounds fat. At the present time we have fine cows milking
an average of 105 pounds milk per cow per day.
