Glenn Bollinger
Glenn Bollinger Age 18,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
B. Bollinger, Lebanon RDS,
will receive his FFA State
Farmer Degree at the
midwinter FFA Convention
held at the Forum Education
Bldg, at Harrisburg, Penna.
on January 8, 1975.
Glenn joined the Cedar
Crest FFA chapter as a
freshman in 1970. He
received his Greenhand
Degree in 1970 and Chapter
Degree in 1971. In his four
years in high school he was
chairman of numerous
committees. He also par
ticipated io numerous
chapter and county FFA
contests. In 1973 and 1974 he
received the gold medal for
the State Project Book
Contest. In 1974 he received
Youth To Receive Keystone Degrees

the chapter proficiency
award in agriculture
mechanics.
Glenn was President of the
chapter during the 1973-74
school year and also served
as county FFA treasurer. In
1973 he attended the National
FFA Convention at Kansas
City, Missouri.
After graduation in 1974,
he started working as a full
time tractor mechanic at
Evergreen Tractor Com
pany Inc. When not at work,
he helps his father manage
their 136 acre farm and 85
dairy animals.
Glenn is an active member
of the Midway Church of the
Brethren and is active in the
youth group and choir.
Richard Krall
Richard Krall has been an
active member of the Cedar
Crest FFA for four years. He
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur R. Krall of Lebanon
RDI. His parents operate a
121 acre dairy farm in
Lebanon County.
Richard has served as
reporter, secretary and
treasurer of the Cedar Crest
FFA. He is currently serving

as secretary of the Lebanon
County FFA. He has served
as chairmen of many
committees in the chapter.
Some of the committees
include: supervised far
ming, scholarship, public
relations, and recreation. He
has also participated in the
dairy judging contest held at
Pa. FFA Activities Week at
Penna. State Univ. in 1973
and 1974. He also attended
the national FFA Convention
in Kansas City in 1973.
Richard has a wide variety
of supervised projects. His
projects this year include:
five head dairy cattle, six
acres of grain corn, five
acres silage corn, ten acres
ofalfalfa hay, one acre sweet
com and a vegetable garden.
In 1974 he received a state
gold medal for his project
book consisting of eight
enterprises. He has also won
many honors by exhibiting
dairy animals in various
shows. In 1974 he exhibited
the second place two year old
Holstein at the Pa. Junior
Dairy Show held in
Harrisburg.
Along with his FFA ac
tivities, Richard is also ac
tive in 4-H and the Lebanon
County Holstein Club. He
was named 4-H Keystone
Winner in petroleum power
and dairy in 1974. He has
participated in many 4-H
trips which have taken him
to Penn State many times
and also to Washington, D.C.
Also in 1974 Richard was
recognized as a finalist in the
Pennsylvania Distinguished
Holstein Junior Member
Contest.
Dennis Brubaker
Dennis Brubaker, son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. Carl
Brubaker Lebanon RDI, will
receive his FFA State
Farmer Degree at the
midwinter FFA convention
held at the Forum Education
Bldg, on January 8 at
Harrisburg.
Dennis has been an active
member of the Cedar Crest
FFA Chapter since 1971. He
received his Greenhand

Farmer Degree in 1972.
During his freshman and
sophomore years he par
ticipated on many com
mittees in the FFA chapter
Lancaster Farming, Saturday, Jan. 4.1975
and entered many chapter
and county contests. Dennis
was the recipient of the
chapter dairy chain calf in
1972 and won the chapter
creed contest in 1971.
During his sophomore
year Dennis was Secretary
of the local chapter; Vice
President, his junior year;
and President, his senior
year. Presently he’s also
Reporter of the Lebanon
County FFA.
Dennis has won many
contests including Ist place
Lebanon County Tractor
Driving in 1973 and 1974.
First place Lebanon County
Mechanics Contest in 1974,
Second place Lebanon
County Soil Judging 1973 and
sth place in 1974. He also has
received proficiency awards
in livestock production, farm
mechanics, and scholarship
awards.
In 1973, he participated in
the State FFA tractor
driving contest during FFA
Activities Week at Penn
sylvania State University.
He also attended the 1973
National FFA Convention
held at Kansas City,
Missouri.
Presently Dennis is par
ticipating in a Agriculture
Work Experience program.
He works on a dairy farm
owned by Mr. J. Harold
Dohner. At the same time he
maintains his own
production enterprises
consisting of two dairy
animals, two sows, and 21
feeder pigs. Dennis also
helps his father on the home
dairy farm.
Aside from work Dennis
keeps himself busy with
church activities. He is a
member of the Midway
Church of the Brethren and
is President of the Youth
Fellowship.
Shawn Hernley
Northern Lebanon
Shawn Hernley
Shawn D. Hernley, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Delmas
Hernley, Lebanon RD3, is a
senior at Northern Lebanon
High School. He is enrolled in
the academic agriculture
curriculum, and has been
active in the FFA for the
past 4 years. In 1972, he
served as assistant chapter
secretary. In 1973 he served
as chapter secretary, and is
currently serving as chapter
and county president. In his
first year he showed hogs
and cattle at the Lebanon
Fair. He also participated in
the tractor driving and
judging contests winning
many ribbons. He placed
first in the local creed
contest and first m the quiz
contest. In the county he
placed second in the creed
and third in the quiz contest.
He showed at the
Southeastern Regional Dairy
Show, in 1972, 1973, and 1974
winning various ribbons. He
showed hogs and cattle at the
Pennsylvania Farm Show
for the past 4 years winning
many prizes. He also won
first prize in the county com
contest.
