He also is a junior member of the Holstein Fresian Association and the Strasburg Mennonite Church. Mellinger’s projects consist of 2 cows, 3 calves, 2 acres of hay and 2 acres of field corn. Lampeter Strasburg Keystone recipient Dwight Houser Dwight Houser, 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilbur Houser, Lampeter, is a senior at Lampeter- Strasburg High School. He is presently serving as president of the Garden Spot FFA Chapter, and treasure for the Lancaster County Red Rose Chapter. Dwight has received the Red Rose Degree and Chapter Youth To Receive Keystone Degrees Dwight Houser Lampeter-Strasburg Proficiency award for livestock production. This year Houser won a Gold Medal award at Penn State in livestock judging entitling him to a trip to Springfield, Massachusetts. Where he was highest in dividual in the north Atlantic Regional Competition. The team placed second out of 11 states. Houser’s farming program consisted of Swine Breeding and finishing, Beef finishing and field corn. Dwight had 8 breeding hogs, 34 finishing hogs, 1 steer and 4 acres of com. Dwight is the fourth Houser brother in his family to receive the Keystone Farmer Degree. Dwight plans to remain in Agriculture Production. John L. Hamish John Hamish, 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Thomas Hamish, Strasburg, RDI, js a senior at Lam- John Harnish Lampeter-Strasburg peter-Strasburg High School. He is presently serving as vice-president of the Garden Spot FFA Chapter. He has received the Red Rose Degree, Outstanding Dairyman Award, and is a member of the varsity basketball team. John’s farming program consisted of six dairy cows, one steer, and nine acres of field corn. After graduation, John plans to attend Penn State University, where he hopes to earn an Associate Degree in Agribusiness. After college, he plans to enter farming or a closely related field. Dwight Martin is a seventeen year-old student at Elizabethtown and has been active in FFA for the past few years. He has served his chapter as president and has been parliamentarian of the Dwight Martin Elizabethtown Lancaster County FFA. Dwight served as chair man of a number of com mittees that included the banquet group and awards activities. Along with his duties as president he was voted most valuable FFA member of the chapter and received the Red Rose Star Farmer degree for the chapter. He has participated on the livestock judging team and won a bronze medal in the state record book com petition. Dwight is also a member of the Mt. Joy Mennonite Church. Melvin Houck Melvin Houck is the 18 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Houck of RD2 Elverson.
