By now you've heard of the nationwide seed corn shortage of prices in excess of $50.00
per 56 pound bushel (when units are converted to bushels). Even more serious is the sub
standard quality being offered, such as 50 percent germination and low test weight.
Luckily Doeblers were treated fairly well by Mother Nature this past season, having
almost twice as much mid-season and late corns to sell as last year. These are the hybrids
that have gained customers each year the corns that are BRED AND GROWN FOR THE
EAST. It will pay you to try Doebler’s Penna. Hybrids in 1975. Doeblers have good quality,
good germinating seed corn (90 percent or better) and a realistic price that Pennsylvania
farmers can afford!!
89X SINGLE CROSS - 125 DAYS
Has highest potential yield of any full season hybrid
we have tested. 200 bu. yields are not unusual. Ideal ear
type on a good stalk. Excellent blight resistance. Fits
Southeast Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware for
maturity as 89X is a full season hybrid. Very upright
leaves.
Second best yield of 84 hybrids tested by Maryland
Extension in Carroll County in 1973 - 158.7 bu. dry
shelled com per acre!! Has second best 2 year average
yield in Dorchester Co., Maryland with 161.2 bu. dry
shelled com per acre!!
85X SINGLE CROSS - 120 DAYS
A popular full season Single Cross. Excellent stan
dup and top-notch appearance. Ears are low and
girthy. Ideal for Southeastern Pennsylvania and
Maryland gram production. Official yields have
reached 221.8 bu. dry shelled corn per acre. A very
consistent performer.
