Dec. 21.1974 48 Farm Women Societies Society 19 The Society of Farm Women 19 held its annual Christmas banquet at Historic Strasburg with a total of 67 persons attending. Pastor Barry Stahl had the invocation. Mrs. Harold Saylor rendered a humorous reading rearranging titles of poems. The group par ticipated in the reading of “The Night Before Christ mas.” Mrs. Scott Nissley led us in singing of carols. Each member received a favor of cotton and pecans from our outgoing president, Mrs. John Ruhl. A delightful inspiring “Old Fashioned Christmas” was presented by Mrs. Clarence (Betty) Detrick from Doylestown, Pa. She ac companied herself on an electric autoharp singing and speaking of customs in other countries as well as the true meaning of Christmas. Mrs. Ross Weaver, our incoming president, distributed the 1975 year books. The next meeting will be held January 11 at 1:30 at the home of Mrs. Charles Musser, 30 Donnerville Road, Lancaster, Pa. Society 22 Farm Women Society 22 held its December meeting in the home of Mrs. Lester Landis, 2088 Creek Hill Drive. The members went by bus to sing Christmas carols and deliver cookies to various homes in the area. Eight women will attend the State Convention January 6 and 7. Mrs. Henry Balmer will model her dress in the State Convention competition. Society No. 22 will visit Conestoga View, with Society No. 23 on December 19 and play Bingo with guests. Society 27 On the program for the January 28 meeting for Society of Farm Women 27 is Jerry Sheaffer a P.P. & L. representative. He will speak on Conserving Electricity. Joan Hinkle will also give a Fondue Demonstration. The meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Daniel Stoltzfus Mount Joy Rl. Society 29 Society of Farm Women No. 29 met Dec. 9 at the home of Mrs. Richard Garber. Mrs. Larry Sawadsky was co-hostess. Mrs. Nancy Hershey presented a candle making demonstration. Our business meeting was conducted by our new President Mrs. Gerald Erb. Our next meeting will be held Jan. 20 at the home of Mrs. Stanley Newcomer. Society 31 Society of Farm Women 31 held its Christmas party at the home of Mrs. David Delong Monday night. After a short business meeting at which it was announced that the county was giving $2,305 to LARC as the county project. We installed new officers and new members. The new officers are Mrs. Robert Kauffman, president; Mrs. Robert Clark, vice president; Mrs. Mark Risser, secretary; and Mrs. James Landis, treasurer. The new mem bers are Mrs. Dale Bollinger and Mrs. Victor Brinton. The next meeting is a trip to a hockey game on Jan. 18. Please let Mrs. James Kreider know how many are going by Dec. 23.
