has sold many copies of it.
Naomi is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the
Lampeter Fire Company and has served as president,
vice-president and secretary in the past.
She has been a director of the West Lampeter Com
munity Fair Association and chairman of the canned good
committee for many years. She is now on the restaurant
committee.
Wengers attend Lampeter United Methodist Church
where Mrs. Wenger is a member and the younger children
are members. Mrs. Wenger is communion steward and on
the worship committee. She is also active in the United
Methodist Women’s group.
Naomi says hermain job is being a waitress at the Plain
& Fancy Restaurant two days a week. She has worked
there for 12 years. She says “I love to meet the tourists.”
Here are some of her recipes to try, the first one is in
Dinner Bell cookbook:
Baked Carrots
2 cups carrots (cooked)
1 can cream of celery soup
% lb. Velveeta cheese (grated)
Mix all ingredients together. Pour into a greased
casserole and sprinkle buttered crumbs on top. Bake 20 to
25 minutes at 350 degrees.
1 lb. cranberries
IVz cups sugar
2 cups water
2 boxes lemon jello
Cook until soft and put through colander. Add 2 boxes
lemon jello.
Add:
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 cup cut grapes
1 cup chopped celery
Chill.

Cranberry Salad
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
4 cups flour
% teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla
Beat butter, sugar and eggs together. Sift flour, soda,
salt and baking powder together, add to egg mixture
alternately with buttermilk. Drop by large teaspoonful on
greased cookie sheet. Sprinkel sugar on top. Bake at 400
degrees 10 minutes.
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 beaten egg shites
Mix cornstarch, flour and sugar with milk and boil till
thick. Remove from heat and add stiffly beaten egg
whites.
Yellow Topping:
Vz cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon flour
2 egg yolks
Beat egg yolks, add milk, sugar aratflour and bring to a
boil. When it is thickened, spoon on top of the cooled white
part.
Black Devils Food Cake
Cream together until fluffy:
2-3 cup soft shortening
1 2-3 cup sugar .
Beat in thoroughly 3 eggs.
Blend together:
2-3 cup cocoa
1 1-3 cup cold water
Sift together:
2 cups western flour
1-3 teaspoon baking powder
IV* teaspoon soda
Stir alternately with the sifted dry ingredients the
cocoa-water mixture. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Bake at 350
degrees for 30 to 39 minutes.
