when the club started.
“This was our second year
in the club and we were able
to go ahead with our work.
The first year we learned the
basics then put our
knowledge to work.”
Both young people were
required to put together a
scrapbook with pictures of
buildings, people, animals
and action shots. They were
also required to do a photo
story.
The club traveled to dif
ferent interest areas around
the County to gather pictures
this summer and while at the
historic site in Landis
Valley, Darwin captured a
piece of “Americana” on
film that won him state
honors. His photo entitled
“Have a cup of coffee, Jake”
featured an old pot-bellied
stove with a cup resting on
top.

photography work that has
kept them busy, Trudy, who
is 15, is interested in sewing
and makes many of her own
clothes.
She also tried her hand at
cake decorating this sum
mer and created some lovely
cakes that ranged from
decorations on the plain
sheet cake to wedding bells.
Trudy was a teen leader
this year and attended 4-H
Club Congress along with the
Teen Leadership Conference
held at Dublin Gap. She has
been an officer of her home
economics club and has been
in dress revue competitions
for the past few years.
Trudy is presently a
sophomore at Manheim
Central School and is in
terested in pursuing a career
in secretarial science.
Darwin is a Junior at the
same high school and is
interested in farming
although be does have an
added interest in electrical
work.
