Plan Time Wisely
Everyone has twenty-four
hours In a day. And if you
can't do as much as you
think you should there's
probably a reason. Ex
tension specialists at The
Pennsylvania State
University explain that
either you're trying to do too
many projects or you're not
using your time to best
advantage.
Many things determine
how you’ll use your time.
Each family has a different
pattern of activities and the
time schedule of other
family members helps
determine yours.
. Each day there are certain
things you must do. These
jobs are inflexible. For
example, you may need to
drive your husband to work
at a certain time or feed the
baby on schedule. And there
are some household jobs you
can do any time. These are
the flexible jobs. Times for
cleaning the house, doing the
mending or ironing, and
taking care of your personal
appearance are some
flexible jobs you may fit
around the inflexible ones.
But remember to try not to
do so many flexible jobs each
day that you’re worn out
thinking about them, caution
the Extension specialists.
You can usually do
something about the feeling
of frustration that arises if

you have so much to do you
can't take Interruptions in
stride. Plan cushions of time
to take care of the usual
interruptions, such as
telephone calls, door-to-door
salesmen, or unexpected
needs of the children. It’s
easier to fit a project into a
few minutes than to squeeze
it into too few. And it’s a good
feeling to do a little more
than you planned instead of
not being able to do all the
things you wanted to do,
recommend the specialists.
