Holds Meeting
The Red Rose Chapter of
the FFA met on November
18th in the Pequea Valley
Senior High School.
Lampeter-Strasburg will
audit the 73-74 treasurer’s
books and report at the next
county meeting.
One of the main items
considered was the approval
of the use of the new Red
Rose application. Following
discussion the application
was approved.
The requirements for the
Red Rose Degree are that
the student must be a
member of the local, County,
State and National FFA
organizations and have held
the chapter degree for one
year. The student must be an
officer of the club or have
been in three committees. It
must also be shown that the
student has invested $lOO in a
supervised agricultural
program and have com
pleted 3 projects of state
requirements. The student
must also have completed
two years of instruction in an
organized vocational
agricultural class in a local
school.
The student is also scored
on activities and farming
programs. Only 6 percent of
the County membership can
receive the degree.
All schools involved are
asked to reevaluate the
program .and encourage the
FFA members to par
ticipate.
The next County FFA
meeting will be held on the
27tn of January at Solanco
High School. The ap
plications will be reviewed at
this meeting to select a Star
Farmer.
