Folwell, associate professor
of agricultural com
munications, will give a
general presentation on the
problems and issues. Alvi
Voigt will discuss the old
independent open market
system, as well as a com
bination of all the systems to
be discussed. Voigt is
associate professor of
agricultural economics
extension, specializing in
horticultural specialty crop
marketing.

With the cost of food rising
almost daily, milk • packed
with nutrition - is still the
“best buy.'*
A survey just completed
by Lehigh Valley
Cooperative Farmers,
Allentown, shows that milk
costs only 1.2 cents per
ounce, while other beverages
- fruit drinks, Juices and
sodas • range up to 1.7 cents
per ounce. Beer is among the
highest.
Most sodas, it must be
remembered, contain only
empty calories, and supply
no nutrition. Sugar is a
primary ingredient of most
sodas and fruit drinks.
But milk contains
Vitamins A, C and D,
protein, carbohydrates and
calcium - all necessary to
ot tanning. He is a professor
of agricultural economics,
specializing in land
economics, land tenure,
livestock economics and
environmental economics.
Thomas Brewer will
examine the pros and cons of
a complete cooperative
system, and Fred Hughes
will look at the possibilities
of an American agriculture
under complete government
control. Brewer is associate
professor of agricultural
economics extension,
specializing in land farmer
cooperatives and fruit and
vegetable marketing.
Hughes is professor of
agricultural economics
extension and specializes in
farm finances, crop
economics and land tenure.
The afternoon will be given
over to an open discussion of
all the systems.
