Dairymen often fail to
recognize that many stress
factors affect the cow’s
ability to resist infection.
Greatest of these is an injury
to the teat end. Good milking
and good sanitation have a
tremendous effect on the
health of udders. Dairymen
who know that their cows
have mastitis or are
producing abnormal milk
should take a serious look at
the management of their
cows before they resort to
the use of antibiotics
You and your veterinarian
must recognize that lables on
all medicines safe to give to
milk producing animals
clearly state proper doses
and withholding times.

sanitizing and drying
procedures are essential.

very closely.
