Top prize in Wednesday
night’s baby beef show went
to Ron Kreider, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Noah Kreider, Jr.,
Manheim RS. Ron took the
prize with a hefty crossbred,
a 4-H entry. The reserve
championship went to Tom
Good, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Good, Lititz R 2, also a
crossbred and also a 4-H
entry.

grand champion while Earl
Gelb, Manheim R 4, showed
the reserve champion.
John’s steer was an Angus
while Earl exhibited a
crossbred steer. Both steers
along with the other FFA
steers were sold Friday
evening along with the FFA
market hogs.
In the senior showmanship
and fitting contest, Kenneth
Brubaker, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Clyde Brubaker, 2418
Old Harrisburg Pike, won
the top prize while Kenneth
Longenecker, Lititz R 2,
placed second. Debbie
Kreider, Manheim R 5,
placed third; Mike Grube,
Elm, fourth; and Ron
Kreider, fifth.
In the junior showmanship
and fitting contest, Darwin
Nissley, Mount Joy R 2,
placed first. Other placings
included Earl Geib,
Manheim R 4, second; Ruby
Cinder, Elizabethtown Rl,
third; Dorago Geib,
Manheim R 3, fourth; and
Douglas Hoover,
Elizabethtown, fifth.

Hog Show
Mike Grube captured both
the grand and reserve grand
championships in Wed
nesday afternoon’s hog
competition. His lightweight
entry, an outstanding Duroc,
was chosen grand champion,
while the reserve ribbon
went to his medium weight
entry.
In the pair of hogs com
petition, Jay Huber, Lititz
Rl, had the top entries, while
Dale Nolt, Manheim Rl,
showed the reserve cham
pion pair.
Rick Pfautz, Ephrata, had
the champion sow of the
show and also placed first in
the senior division of the
showmanship and fitting
contest.
Jay Huber won the junior
division showmanship and
fitting contest.

In sheep judging, also held

the junior showmanship and
fitting contest.
Her sister, Barbara,
showed the reserve cham
pion market lamb and the
reserve champion pen of
