week’s close, closing prices
on slaughter steers steady to
SO cents higher, Heifers
steady to 25 cents lower.
Cows 2.00-3.00 lower. Bulls
mostly steady.
Four day receipts 14,100 as
compared 13,900 previous
week and 13,800 a year ago.
Steers approximately 30
percent, week’s total, heifers
21 percent, cows 12 percent
and feeders 35 percent. Bulk
of the feeders for Friday
auction. The decline in fed
cattle prices of recent weeks
continued on Monday as
steer and heifer prices were
pushed sharply lower.
However, the downturn was
erased in later trading
supported by very moderate
supplies and sharply ad
vancing prices in the
wholesale carcass trade.
Midweek demand good on
slaughter steers and heifers
were higher for the first time
in several weeks.

30-dozen cases, and traded in lots of either 300 or 750 cases.
Prices are FOB buyers dock, and are computed Tuesday and
