Last year the host state FFA team was sixth among 9 competitors. Dwight Hoover and Gerald Smith both of Martinsburg, finished Bth and 9th, respectively, in the overall individual scoring. Their teammate, Gary Bechtel, Curryville, finished fifth among all the contestants in judging the two Brown Swiss classes. The 4-H Pennsylvania team from Lancaster County came in fifth while matching dairy know-how with nine other state champion squads. Gary Akers, Quarryville, turned in the best individual effort with 549 points, good for seventh place.
