Will Receive | Continued From Page 1] of opportunities for a young person to grow in respon sibility and leadership. “FFA now has a wide scope of interests,” he ex plained. “With agribusiness activities becoming more wide spread there are in creasingly more ways to become involved in agriculture.” “I feel FFA helped me to grow not only in leadership but also in self im provement.” Along with his work on the farm, Dale is also active in the Manheim young fanners club and serves as a teacher at Erb’s Mennonite Church. Dale explained that be would like to continue far ming as long as possible. “It is a simple way of life but I enjoy working outside and as long as there is enough land I want to con tinue farming.” Society 23 Rhub’s Sing Out of the United Methodist Church of Manheim was the program feature at the meeting of Farm Women Society 23 held recently at Manor Brethren Church in Columbia. Members of Farm Women Society 8 along with county officers were guests. County officers attending were Mrs. Carl Johnson, president Mrs. Milton Funk, treasurer and Mrs. John N. Hess second vice-president of the Pa. Farm Women Societies. Mrs. Lester Newcomer read Psalms 103 during the devotional portion of the program. The program was planned by Mrs. Glen Burkholder, Mrs. Harold Greider and Mrs. Leroy Funk. Hostesses for the event included: Mrs. Paid Funk, Mrs. Harold Hoak, Mrs. Newlin Groff and Mrs. Ralph Kauffman. During the business portion of the meeting, $25 was approved for the Farm Women’s State Scholarship fund. The nominating committee to elect a treasurer and secretary was Dale Nolt his wife, Sandy, discuss the farm records for the also appointed. The com mittee includes: Mrs. Howard Martin, Mrs. Edgar Funk and Mrs. Lester Newcomer.
