Divisions include contour; small plow, level land; and large plow, level land. The contest will be held at the Columbia County Institutional Farms, and the Ellis Turner Farm, located 2 miles from the fairgrounds. Hay and Silage Shows Everyone may see the Hay Show, Hay Crop Silage Show, and Com Silage Show. Farmers who wish to enter samples in the Hay Show or Hay Crop Silage Show may receive information at the local Cooperative Extension Service Of fice. Commercial Exhibits Approximately 120 commercial companies will be exhibit ing their newest products for farming and country living. On display will be farm machinery; buildings; livestock feeding equipment; silos; feeds; fertilizers; ag chemicals; lawn and garden machines; and other farm and home supplies. Included will be com and soybean varieties; soybean weed control plots; annual forage crops; farm crops garden; soil profile pit; and a no-till planting demonstration. Machinery Demonstrations Machinery dealers will demonstrate their newest forage har vesting equipment including com silage harvesters; chemical sprayers: “big package” haymaker; tillage equipment; li quid manure applicators; and no-till com planting. Home Horticulture Display A unique program for rural and urban people will feature a garden exhibit showing techniques used in the maintenance of trees, shrubs, fern, and flowers. During the evening program, mowers and tillage equipment for homeowners will be demonstrated. Forest Resources Activities Those attending the field days will sec demonstrations on forest fire control by helicopter, tree harvesting and handling equipment; fire wood processing; and forest insect control. Exhibits will include pole bam and log cabin materials; paper recycling; and the various uses of maple sugar products.
