It takes from one to three
years to train a horse for the
Barrel Race and ap
proximately 2 to 3 hours
work a day to keep him in
condition, so it could only be
the love for the sport that
compells the girls to con
tinue in the only event that is
provided especially for them

Grant Harris of Cowtown,
got $78.40 for his efforts on a
Saddle Bronc. Four others,
who were daring enough to
enter, ended up with a
“Ground Split”.
Pat McCarey of Sharp
town, N.J. won the steer
wrestling at 11.4 Seconds, not
setting any new records; but
taking home $213.64.
Out of the attempted ef
forts of 35 cowboys to ride
the ever challenging Brah
ma Bulls; Beau Bridges of
Staton Island, N. Y. took
home top money for the
evening with a Score of 62 on
a bull named Groovy Rock,
and cash of $248.92

Holland Fair.
Jeff is only one Martin that
has been on the FFA Chorus,
as a few years ago, his
brother, Mike was also
chosen to sing with the
national group.
Although Jeff would like to
continue with his singing he
