Lewis E. Ritter, of
Reading, Pa. was elected
president of the Water
Pollution Control
Association held recently at
the association’s 46th annual
conference, at Pennsylvania
State University.
Ritter, who will serve as
president for the coming
year, is -manager of the
operations consulting
department of Gilbert
Associates, Inc., a Reading
consulting firm. Prior to that
he was employed by the
Harrisburg Sewage treat
ment plant and by Gannett,
Fleming, Corddry and
Carpenter, consulting
engineers, Harrisburg.
Ritter has served in a
variety of .Pennsylvania
W.P.C.A. offices. He is the
author of various technical
papers on sewage treatment,
and attended Pennsylvania
State University, Lebanon
Valley College, and
Elizabethtown College.
Other officers elected by
the Pa. W.P.C.A. for the
coming year are: first vice
president, Joseph L.
Ferrero, consulting
engineer, Fayette
Engineering, Uniontown,
Pa.; second vice-p*esident
Ned H. Sams, marketing and
public relations officer for
Gannett, Fleming, Corddry
and Carpenter, engineers,
Harrisburg: and secretary
treasurer, James J. Whitty,
municipal sales director for
Manley Regan Chemical Co.,
Middletown, Pa.
Richard H. Suplee, of
Malvern, Pa., was re-elected
editor of the association’s
publications.
Israelis Tour
Big Dutchman
Installations
A tour group of 12 Israeli
farmers were in Lancaster
County last week to tour
local installations of Big
Dutchman poultry equip
ment. Hosting the tour were
Walter Newman, Big Dut
chman sales manager,
Robert Hill, the firm’s
regional manager, and
Donald Hershey, of Hershey
Equipment Co., New
Holland.
