Senior Livestock Judges from Lebanon County included
Donald Bollinger, Myerstown who won a blue ribbon, James
Leaman, Lebanon; Jay Bomgardner, red robbon and
Thomas Fair, Lebanon.
Four girls from Lebanon County received Blue ribbons in
demonstrations. Susan Thomas of Palmyra, Julia Woods,
Annville; Cynthia Woods, Annville and Connie Horst,
Newmanstown. A red ribbon was awarded to Clay
Bomgardner for this demonstration.
Keystone Award Winners from Lebanon County included:
Connie Horst, Dairy Foods and Nutrition; Richard Krall in
Petroleum Power and Dairy; Lori Grimes in Leadership and
Amy Schaffer in the Outstanding Girl category.
The consumera team received a red ribbon with Deb
Wilson, of Lebanon placing 6th.
Brenda Maulfair, Jonestown received a blue ribbon for her
demonstration in Animal Science and Richard Krall also
receiving a blue for his engineering demonstration.
Red ribbon winners in demonstrations went to Patricia
Roof, Lebanon and Antonio Klick, Lebanon.
York County’s Archery Team and Meat Judging Team
placed first in the State competition.
High individual on the Archery Team was Mark Cramer of
York, 2nd - Terry Miller, Seven Valleys and sth - Magen
Shaub, Shrewberry.
High individual on the Meats Teams was Keith Shaeffer,
Hanover; 3rd - Karen Webb; Glen Rock; 4th - Pauline Doll,
Glen Rock and 6th - Peggy Brenneman.
The Consumerama team received a blue ribbon. Members
were Kristy Shermeyer, Dover; Mary Jane Brillhart,
Dover; Linda Wilson Glen Rock and Robin Innerest, York.
Anne Hoover and Marcia Lecrone of York received a
medal for their consumerama presentation.
Nathaniel Sheffer, Hanover placed Bth and Kathy Sunday,
York placed 10th on the Senior Livestock Team.
Cindy Knight, Airville, placed 13th in the Dairy Com
petition Terry Helder was 9th in the Horse Team.
In demonstration competition blue ribbons went to Karen
Raubenstine, JoAnn Zumbrim, Hanover, Karen Hemminger,
Glen Rock; Linda Ebaugh, Delta, Beverly Brown, Delta;
Jeff Roth, Spring Grove and Larry Rappholdt, Glen Bock.
In the Flower Judging competition, 2nd place went to
Sharon Snyder, Etters and sth place to Dan Deshong, Etters.
York County’s Rifle team placed 7th with Lester Fortney,
Mechanicsburg, placing sth.
Chester County’s Poultry Judging Team brought home
first place honors in the State Competition. Rachel Wein
stock, Phoenixville was high individual with Dan Delay
capturing 3rd.
The Junior Livestock Team placed 4th and the Senior team
placed 6th in competition.
James Stanton, Lincoln University, placed sth in Dairy
Contest with the Chester Team placing 6th.
In the demonstration contest blue ribbons went to Marjorie
Plye, Malvern and'Howard Stoltzfus, Elverson and Janis
Hutchinson of West Grove.

Blue awards were received by members of the consumers
team. Included were: Barbara Hughes, Linville; Dorothy
and Kay Minshall, Abondale and Nancy Mauger,
Downingtown.
The Horse Bowl Team from Berks County captured first
place at the Achievement Festival. Many other 4-H’ers
brought back individual and team awards.
David Schantz, Albertis, won a blue ribbon and placed Bth
in Dairy Judging. The Dairy team placed 11th in team
competition.
Donna Marion, Reading won a blue ribbon and Bth place.in
the Horse Judging competion with the team placing 9th.
Kim Steffey, Mounton, placed 22nd with a white ribbon in
horse judging.
Anne Holcomb, Mohrstown, received a red ribbon and
placed 9th in the Jr. Livestock competition.
The senior livestock Judging Team placed 9th in the State
with James Deitrick, Hamburg placing 17th.
The meats judging team from Berks County placed Bth in
the State.
In demonstration competition Cynthia Everhart, Fleet
wood received a gold medal, Deb Linton, Reading received a
red ribbon; Andy Pelton, red and Gwen Wentzel, red.

The Board estimates the
state’s red cherry growers
will contribute about the
$9,000 from the 1974 crop,
with the money to be used for
both national and in-state
promotion of processed
cherries.
