County Picnic August 7 12:00
noon at Lampeter
Fairgrounds. Bring a
covered dish and your own
utensils. Homemakers Camp
August 25, 26, 27 at Camp
Swatara. The Theme will be
“World of Women”. The
price is $14.00. Registration
deadline is August 9.
November 2 is the Lancaster
County Convention at The
Lancaster Bible College.
After the .business
meeting, Mr. John Yocum
gave us a brief history of the
Southeastern Field Research
Laboratory. It dates back to
the late 1800’s, several sites
have served as Laboratory
head Quarters. The Present
site near Landisville was
purchased in 1956. Af
terwards we were shown the
cantaloupes and water
mellons. How they breed
corn to make a hybrids, the
weather station, grapes for
making wine and the
flowers. A lot of work and
time is involved in these
research projects so that we
may have bigger and
better Yields in our farm
land.
Hie August 24 meeting will
be held at the East Peter
sburg Church of the
Brethren. We will entertain
the County Officers and
Society 21. Special music by
the Gospel Heirs and Joyce
Burkholder the speaker.

held their July meeting at
the home of Mrs. John Swarr
of New Providence with
twenty-two members and
several guests attending.
Mrs. Helen Wagner had
devotions. After committee
reports and other business,
plans were made for the
anniversary luncheon to be
held at the Robert Fulton Inn
in August.
Plans were also made for
the bus trip in September to

The Rutherford County, Tennessee
4-H Square Dancers will be per
forming at the Lancaster Farm and
Home Center on Saturday, August 3
at 8:00 p.m. This event is being
sponsored by the Lancaster County
4-H Council. This nationally known
square and clog dancing group of 4-
H'ers from Tennessee is making an
Eastern tour and wilt be stopping in
visit historic places in
Southern Lancaster County,
and on the return trip to have
refreshments at the Robert
Fulton Inn.
Mrs. Helen Wagner and
son Roy gave a piano and
violin duet which was en
joyed.
The speaker. Miss Miriam
Krantz, missionary to Nepal
showed slides and told of the
way of life in that country.
She brought samples of their
food with her.
The hostesses served
refreshments. The next
meeting will be August 29th.

traveled to Romania and Mexico.
They have also performed on the
Dean Martin "Music Country Show"
