A cow in the herd of Ralph D. Shirk and Sons completed the
highest lactation record. Della produced 21,365 pounds of
milk, 863 pounds of butterfat with a 4.0 percent test. Second
high lactation records went to 128 owned by William Myer.
The cow produced 20,587 pounds of milk with a 3.3 percent
test and 670 pounds of butterfat.
Hie herd of Isaac E. Zimmerman had the highest daily
butterfat average. This herd of 16 cows averaged 57.3 pounds
of milk, 2.32 pounds of fat and a 4.0 test. Second was the herd
of Robert Martin with an average of 51.1 pounds of milk per
cow, 1.83 pounds of butterfat and a 3.6 percent test.
