“River" is hardly an appropriate term for the
Conestoga where it flows past Harvey Nolt’s farm,
at least in normal times. On June 22, the stream
was neither river nor creek, but a raging torrent
that swelled up to 13-feet about its normal level.
Nolt commemorated the event by chiseling this
information into a rock on his farm, an effort that
may delight picnickers and historians a century or
two hence.

The CPSC regulations, in
effect since March 6, insure
consumers a definite means
for refunds on products
banned under the federal

You are.entitled to refunds
for the price of the goods plus
any necessary tran
sportation costs from the
party who sold you the item,
according to Christine
Newman, Extension con

But save your sales slips.
You must provide proof-of
purchase. Without such
proof, the seller is only en
couraged, but not required,
to give a refund.
To find out if you have
bought any banned items,

could cure toothache.
