July 2( 12 York 4-Hers Compete Members of 4-H Clubs from York County were among winners in the Regional 4-H Demonstration and Public Speaking contest which was held July 12 at Northern High School, DUlsburg. Bringing home top honors for the county were; Karen Hemmlnger, RDI Glen Rock - foods demonstration; Beverly Brown, RD2 Delta - animal science demon stration; Linda Ebaugh, RD2 Delta - animal science demonstration; Chris Kulynych, RDI Thomasville • health demonstration; Jeff Roth, RDI Spring Grove - Health demonstration; Larry Rappoldt, Glen Rock - holography demonstration; Karen Raubenstine, RDI Hanover - food demon- stration; and Joanne Zumbrum, 102 Grandview Rd., Hanover - clothing demonstration. Marcy Seckman, Assistant Home Economist said all these winners will compete with top demonstrations from eight other regions at State 4-H Achievement Days, August 5 to 7 on the Pennsylvania State University campus. They will take part in the statewide events along with county agricultural and home economics judging fpflmc All three junior 4-H demonstrations from York County received blue ribbons at the Regional event. They do not participate in the State event. The junior winners were Dawn At Regional Raubenstine, RDI Hanover; Laurie and Lisa Dobrosky, RDI Glen Rock; and Jonathan and Paul Myers, RDI Thomasvllle. County Agents, Extension Home Economists, and local leaders from the various counties supervised the regional educational event DHIA Testers Receive Awards The Dairy Herd Im provement Association Testers will hold their 50th Anniversary on Friday and Saturday at Penn State. Receiving recognition for their outstanding service to the DHIA testing progiam will be Harold Probst, Bart, Pa., and Lee Landis, RDI, Narvon. Length of service awards will be presented to Leon Arnold, Lebanon County for 20 years service and Clarence Kreider, Lancaster County also for 20 years of service. Recognition for 15 years of dedicated work with the testing program will go to John Arnold, Lebanon County, Moses_ Martin, Lancaster County and Lee Landis, Lancaster.
