qualify for rapid federal tax
depreciation if installed and
certified before Jan. 1,1975,
says James T. Hall,
economist, Extension Ser
vice, U. S. Department of
Agriculture.
Farmers and businessmen
may depreciate (amortize)
the cost of certain pollutio
control facilities and
equipment over a period of
five years (60 months).
Mr. Hall points out that
such facilities must have
been installed and ap
propriately certified by state
and federal pollution control
certifying authorities after
1968 and prior to 1975. Also,
the Internal Revenue code
provides that the facility A statement.
