Lactation Records Over 600 Pounds Fat
A cow in the herd of Marvin Meyer completed the highest
lactation. Taffy produced 24,130 pounds milk, 859 pounds
butterfat, with a 3.6 percent test. Second high lactation was
completed by a cow in the Hershey Bare herd. 64 produced
20,412 pounds milk, 67,373 pounds butterfat, with a 3.3 percent
tek.
The herd of Isaac Zimmerman had the highest daily but
terfat average. This herd of 15.5 cows averaged 53 pounds of
milk, 2.19 pounds of butterfat, with a 4.1 percent test. Second
was the herd of Albert Moyer with an average of 52.6 pounds
of milk, 2.06 pounds of butterfat with a 3.9 percent test.
