How to Wash
Electric Blankets
Wash - don’t dryclean
electric blankets that you
are storing for the summer.
Drycleaning fluids can
damage electric wiring
insulation.
Before washing, discon
nect all removable parts
from the blanket. Follow
laundering instructions if
you have kept them. Most
reputable manufacturers
include instructions for
laundering. If you do not
have information on washing
electric blankets, use the
following guidelines:

Drape the blanket over two
parallel lines to dry.
For hand washing, use a
bathtub large enough to hold
even a double blanket
without crowding.
As a substitute for
machine action, use a
plumber’s plunger to draw
the suds through the fabric.
This will loosen the soil and

How to Freeze Eggs
The egg is one of nature’s
most amazing creations. It’s
a high protein food that’s
handy, versatile and useful
for preparing inexpensive
lunches, suppers and snacks.
There are times, when the
cost of eggs can cut a little
deeper into your food dollar
than usual. This is because
the price of eggs tends to
fluctuate with supply. When
eggs are moderately priced,
as they are now, freeze some
for future use if you have
freezer space.
When you freeze eggs,
make sure to use those that
are top quality, fresh, clean
and well-chilled. If con
venient, chili them almost to
the freezing point. Their
follow these easy steps.'
First, wash the eggs in
lukewarm water. Dry
quickly. Then break the
eggs, one at a time, into a
cup to check quality before
putting into a large bowl. Do
not freeze eggs that have an
odor or blood spots.
When all the eggs have
been added to the bowl, use a

fork to mix whites and yolks.
But do not beat. Next, .to
each cup of egga add either a
tablespoon ofsugar or light
corn syrup, or a half
teaspoon of salt - depending
on how you will use them.
Wide, moisture-proof half
pint containers work well as
freezing containers for eggs.
Leave a half-inch head space
for expansion of the eggs
when they freeze. Seal
tightly and label each con
tainer so you will know the
quality and whether the
contents were mixed with
salt or sweetener.
Frozen eggs will keep well
in the freezer from 6 to 8
months. To use frozen eggs,
thaw under cold running
water or in the refrigerator.
Stir before using and do not
refreeze. Thawed frozen
eggs spoil rapidly so use
them immediately after
thawing.
Safety Tips For
Home Dry Cleaning
If you’re planning to do
some home dry cleaning, be
careful with the solvents,
because solvents, with the
exception of water, are
poisonous if you swallow
them or if you inhale their
vapors. Some solvents are
also flammable.
- Work in a well-ventilated
room or outdoors.
-Arrange your work so
any breeze is blowing the
fumes away from you.
-Do not allow small
children to play on the floor
in a room where you are
using solvents. Vapors from
