Broken-Bit
4-H Horse Club
The April meeting of the
Broken-Bit 4-H Horse Club
was held at the home of dub
secretary, Karin Risser,
Stevens. President Cindy
Enck conducted the business
meeting. Insurance for in
dividual members will be
paid by the dub, and all
applications must be
returned before the next
meeting. A County Council
report was given by Cindy
Enck and Karin Risser.
On May 25 at 11:00 a.m. the
club will hold its annual
horseshow. The show will be
hdd at Ralph Kurtz’s show
ring, Denver. Twenty-two
classes will be featured and
there will be separate
classes for 4-H members
only.
At the conclusion of the
show, 3 different cham
pionships will be awarded.
Anyone interested in more
debuts should contact one of
the dub members.

Broken-Bit 4-H Horse club
will be held on May 16 at the
home of Jane and Martha

the Meckville 4-H Club was
held at the home of Mrs.

After the meeting, refresh
ments were served, followed
by a few rounds of .volleyball.
The next meeting will be
held May 7 In the home of
Mrs. Hopkins.

Baby Beef &
Lamb Club
The May meeting of the
Lancaster Baby Beef and
Lamb dub was held on May
1 at the Farm and Home
Center. Roll Call was taken
and we heard some good
reports about the members’
projects. John Zimmerman
then reported on the
livestock judging team’s
winnings at Penn State.
Hie members were as
follows: Kevin Rohr, Steve
Donougb, Ron Krieder, and
club meeting.

about the Freeze branding;
to be held at the Black and
White Holstein Farm on May
25. A letter will be sent out to
all members with more
details.
Also the members
discussed the Farm Show
Commission’s idea per
taining to the new categories
shown by weight only and not
by breed. The dub discussed
this and then voted to have it
remain like it has in the past
with breeds.
Wayne Bitner, and Sam
Long gave a good demon
stration entitled Problems
when raising your 4-H
project. The program that
evening was a talk from Dr.
Gardner, a large animal
veterinarian who discussed
some diseases our steers
may get. Then the members
all participated in some
games at the end.

Methodist Church.

final cookie report.
