Select Cut of Chicken
Yon Need
When you’re buying
chicken to serve your family
or guests, select the size that
best suits your needs. Penn
State Extension foods and
nutrition specialists point out
that you may need a whole
bird, halves or quarters for
broiling. Or you may want
only breasts, legs or thighs.
Also keep in mind the
comparative cost, amount of
meat you get for the money
and the work involved in
preparing the various cuts.
