Sale Nets *21,271
A yearling heifer donated
by Eby Hershey was the top
seller at last Saturday’s
Auction at Lancaster
Mennonite High.
The heifer, amid flashing
photographers’ lights and
staccatoed auctioneering,
showed little signs of feat*
while the bids climbed above
$2,000. The bidding finally
stopped at $2,150. Lloyd
Kreider, Cochranville
Badger dealer, became the
proud owner.
Other notable items sold at
the auction were over 40

- The total auction sales for
the day climbed to $14,271.16
by late Saturday evening.
Along with that amount was
a pledge of $7,000 by a group
of interested persons
bringing the total gross
auction proceeds to
$21,271.16.
Though every kind of
weather imaginable from
snow, to sleet, to rain and
high winds was experienced
on Saturday, an unusually'
large crowd attended the

Fund Drive ’74, of which
the Country Auction was a
major part, has netted to
date a total of $46,259.66-
$6,000 over the goal of
$40,000-and the money is
still trickling in.

the Agricultural Experiment
Station at The Pennsylvania
State University.
The detailed Stream Map
is about three feet wide by
five feet long. The scale is six
miles to the inch.
Geographical features in
cluded are 3,000 each of
streams, towns, and
elevations above sea level.
The map gives the names
and locations of major
mountains, valleys, lakes,
dams, swamps, and
reservoirs.
The map is available for
