PennAg Board Opposed
To Fertilizer Embargo
In response to legislation
sponsored by 125 U. S.
Congressmen to place an
embargo on fertilizer ex
ports, PennAg Industries
Association’s Board of
Directors has voted to op
pose such a bill.
The Association directors
feel that private business
should provide the solutions
to the problem of fertilizer
shortages. Although there
may be some difficult times
ahead, the board felt that an
embargo at this time would
disrupt the world fertilizer
markets. They also brought
planning at the Sperry Rand
headquarters.
In other organization
changes at Sperry New
Holland, John S. Keister has
been appointed a vice
president. Keister is
responsible for the com
pany’s worldwide
development of new markets
and acquisitions and will
now also be accountable for
long-range planning.
Melvin J. Happe, former
engineering director for the
European Division, has been
named vice president for
engineering. North America.

world’s largest manufac-
turer of specialized farm
equipment. The firm em

that because of larger than
