Girl to Attend National 4-H Conference Elizabeth Hutchison, of RD2, West Grove, is one of five outstanding Penn sylvania 4-H members selected to take part in the National 4-H Conference in Washington, D.C., April 20- 25. The conference, with headquarters at the National 4-H Center, is designed to explore ways to improve 4-H work and to interpret the youth program to legislators and other public officials through personal contact. “Beth was named to at tend the event on the basis of her 4-H records and par ticipation in county and state activities,” said Leland G. Jinks, 4-H youth division leader at The Pennsylvania State University. In Washington, the five delegates will meet with 4-H members from other states, visit points of interest in the District of Columbia area, have conferences with lawmakers, and discuss major issues facing 4-H in the future, Jinks points out. Several hundred 4-H members from all states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia will take part in the activities. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Hutchison, Beth is a student at Duke University. She has been a 4- H member 11 years. She served her local club as president, secretary, treasurer, news reporter, song leader and game leader.
