Constantine. Kermes, a
Pittsburgh native of Greek
descent, ' has found in
spiration both in the
Byzantine icons of his an
cestral home and in the Plain
People of Lancaster County,
the New England Shakers
and other similar ethnic
groups. Kermes designs
farm machinery for Sperry
New Holland* and has just
closed a one-man show in
Millersville State College’s
Ganser Library. He lives on
Landis Valley Road in
Lancaster.

Edward Schaich is a staff
artist with the Sperry New
Holland advertising
department, and started
sketching the farms and
rolling landscapes of Lan
caster County after he
moved to Lititz some years
ago. His watercolors and
pencil renderings of farm
life are currently being
displayed on four floors of
the Lancaster General
Hospital.
