The
Farm
As
Inspiration
Rural scenes - buildings, people, animals, land
scapes - have been a favorite topic of artists since the
very beginnings of art. Lancaster County is a veritable
storehouse of inspiration for artists, many of whom
have national reputations, some of whom live in the
county. We present here the work of three such ar
tists. All three live and work in the county, and all have
recently had local exhibits of their work
Grant Heilman is a
nationally known
agricultural and nature
photographer. He lives in
Lititz, and although he
travels far and wide in
search of material, he has
taken a tremendous number
of photographs right here in
the county. Heilman
currently has an exhibit of
his work hanging in the
Pennsylvania Farm
Museum of Landis Valley.
