This Sledgehammer head is protected with Scot
chkote Epoxy. The same material now used to coat Big
Dutchman poultry and livestock equipment. Weather,
wear, and impact have practically no effect on this
remarkable material.
In fact, when they wanted a really permanent
protective coating for the Alaska Pipeline or the un
dersides of British city buses, this same new Scotchkote
Epoxy is what they used, because it stands up under the
ravages of aging, corrosives, abrasives and abuse. Even if
a chip or scratch does develop, there is no “creeping” of
rust under the surface. The epoxy locks on too tightly to
allow that.
