Tips on Making Wrap-Arounds The wrap-around or side wrapped closing is one of the latest fashion notes. This fashion emphasis garments wrapped and tied at the left-shows up in coats, dresses, palazzo pants, halters, sweaters and blouses. This style, reminiscent of the 30’s and 40’s, is being updated with new fabrics and colors. The raglan or dolman sleeve takes star billing. The soft, clinging look of many of the wrapped fashions is achieved by using bias. When working with bias, certain construction steps are necessary to get a good fitting garment. To avoid stretching bias areas, handle the garment as little as possible during con struction. Stay-stitch true bias seams in the direction of the gram. Areas which are apt to stretch badly can be stablized with tape. Reports Fogelsville February 12,1974 (Prices paid dock weights cents per lb.)
