A Registered Holstein cow owned by Hiram S. Aungst,
RDI, Elizabethtown, completed the highest 305 day lactation.
Donna produced 21,883 pounds of milk, 995 pounds of but
terfat with a 4.5 percent test. Second high lactation was
completed by a Holstein cow owned by John M. Hamish, 1036
Beaver Valley Pike, Lancaster. Carol produced 24,656
pounds of milk, 908 pounds of butterfat with a 3.7 percent test
in 305 days.
The herd of Amos & Eleanor Hershey, RDI, Kinzers, had
the highest daily butterfat average. This herd of 27.0
Registered and Grade Holstein cows averaged 45.8 pounds of
milk, 2.02 pounds of butterfat with a 4.4 percent test. The herd
of Floyd M. Molt, had second highest daily butterfat average.
This herd of 32.2 Registered and Grade Holstein cows
averaged 48.5 pounds of milk, 2.00 pounds of butterfat with a
4.1 percent test.
