Silver Spurs 4-H
Plan Meetings
The Silver Spurs 4-H Horse
and Pony Club held their
January meeting at the
Lancaster Riding Club.
Demonstrations were
given by Lennie Matron!,
Sara Young, and Judy An
derson on “Saddlebreds.”
The meeting was called to
order by Randy Click. The
club was honored to have
Mr. Rob Byers speak on
"Equitation, Riding, and
Training of the Saddlebred
Horse.”
The club announced that
their Annual Horse Show will
be held Aug. 18 at the Lan
caster Riding Club. A letter
was read, informing that
Lancaster County will be in a
newly formed District 6,
instead of District 10. The
District show will be held
Sept. 21 in Cumberland
County.
The club is doing a scrap
book for achievement day
and asks each to
bring a picture of their
project to the next meeting.
An ice skating party is
planned for Feb. 10, weather
permitting. Members are to
meet at John Clicks at 2:00.
After skating, members will
return to the Clicks for
refreshments.
Leaders for the ‘74 year
will be John Click,
Bareville; Mrs. Joe
Gochnauer, Centerville and
Mrs. Mervin Bare of Wit
mer.

Helen Puskar, Extension
home furnishings specialist
at The Pennsylvania State
University, explains that it
comes in pieces-you put it
together. You’ll find love
seats, tables, bookcases,
backless seats, coffee tables,
and chairs in chrome and
plastic. Another manufac
turer has knock-downs made
of 24-karat gold and glass;
still another has chrome and
glass. Also coming on the
market are fiberboard space
savers which can be at
tached to closet and kitchen
