this herd, cows that will milk up to 70 or 80
pounds per day.

the previous week. Average
placements during the past
10 weeks were 6 percent
above a year earlier.
Settings for broiler chicks
were 1,837,000 - 5 percent
above the previous week and
2 percent above the com*
parable period a year
earlier. The current 3-week
total of eggs set is 1 percent
above the same period a
year ago.
Inshipments of broiler
type chicks druing the past
10 weeks were zero com
pared with 8,000 a year ago.
Outshipments averaged
290,000 during the past 10
weeks, 42 percent above a
year earlier.
Placements in the 21
States were 59,691,000 - 1
percent above the previous
week and 6 percent above the
corresponding week a year
earlier. Average placements
during the past 10 weeks
were 3 percent above a year
ago. Settings were 72,703,000
- 2 percent below the
previous week but 2 percent
above a year earlier. The
