Poor Man’s Steak
1 pound hamburger
1 cup cracker crumbs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
V* teaspoon pepper
1 small onion (chopped fine)
Mix well and shape in a
narrow loaf. Let set for at
least eight hours or over
night. Slice in pieces and fry
til brown. Put dices in layers
in roaster and spread
mushroom soup on each

soup. Bake for one hour at
325 degrees.

Poor Man’s Steak
2 pounds hamburger
1 cup cracker crumbs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
y* teaspoon pepper
1 chopped onion
Mix together and press
into a loaf pan or on a cookie
sheet. Chill overnight, cut
into four inch squares if on
sheet or slice if in pan. Roll
in flour and brown on both
sides. Place pieces in
roaster. Cover with one can
mushroom soup and one can
water mixed. Bake at 300
degrees for one and one-half
hours.

Salad
1 package lemon gelatin
2 cups hot water
22 large marshmallows
2 3-ounce packages cream
cheese
1 tablespoon salad dressing
1 cup fine chopped celery
1 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup cream
1 package cherry gelatin
2 cups water
Dissolve lemon gelatin and
marshmallows in hot water.
Mix cream cheese and salad
dressing and add to gelatin
mixture. Add celery and
pineapples. Chill until set.
Then add cherry gelatin on
top. May be served on let-

Bottom Layer:
Use two boxes lime
gelatine, prepared as
directed on package. Let set.
Center Layer:
1 can crushed pineapple
% cup sugar
1 envelope gelatine
% cup cold water
1 8-ounce package cream
cheese
1 pint whipped cream
Vi cup chopped nuts
Heat pineapple and sugar,
then add envelope gelatine
that has been dissolved in %
cup cold water. Stir in cream
cheese. Cool this, then add
whipped cream and nuts.
Pour on top of first layer and
let set.
Top Layer:
Use two boxes of
strawberry gelatine
prepared as directed on
package. When cool put on
top of second layer and
refrigerate.
