A cow in the herd of Bare Brothers Dairy completed the
highest lactation. 2 Hoke produced 24,473 pounds milk, 814
pounds butterfat with a 3.3 percent test. Second high lac
tation was completed by a cow in the herd of Sonnen Acres.
Sari produced 23,329 pounds milk, 831 pounds butterfat with a
3.6 percent test.

1974 totaled 2,400,000 hun
dredweight (cwt.) according
to the Crop Reporting Ser
vice. This is 14 percent more
than the record low stocks a
year earlier.
These stocks represent
potatoes hsld for all uses by
Pennsylvania growers, local
dealers and processors.
Total U.S. stocks on
January 1, 1974 was 128.9
million cwt., four percent
less than the 134.3 million
cwt on hand a year earlier.
Disappearance from the 1973
fall production of 232.0
million cwt. to January 1,
1974 totaled 123.1 million
cwt., eight percent more
than the 114.5 million

and excess up $1.40.
The weighted average
price for the market was
increased by $1.95, above
December 1972.
A total of 377.1 million
pounds of producer milk was
pooled in December of which
63.16 percent was sold as
Class I, showing a decrease
of 6.16 percent of deliveries
made in November, and a
decrease of 1.7 percent under
December a year ago. 7897
Order No. 4 producers
provided 12.16 million
pounds per day to dealers
during December, averaging
1541 pounds per day per
fartn.
