Sickler Exhibits Champion
At County 4-H Beef Show
The champion English Breed
steer exhibited by Barbara
Jeanne Sickler, West Chester,
was named grand champion at
the annual Chester County 4-H
Beef Show. Barbara, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sickler, was
also named reserve champion
senior division showman for
members over 14 years old. The
grand champion trophy was
presented to Barbara by Mr. &
Mrs. James Robinson, West
Chester
The reserve grand champion of
the show was the champion
crossbred steer exhibited by
James Wylie, Nottingham.
James also exhibited the reserve
champion heifer and was named
champion senior division
showman. James, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Wylie, Jr., received the
reserve grand champion trophy
from Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Kerstetter, West Chester.
John Holloway, West Chester,
captured two championships and '
one reserve. John exhibited the
champion heifer and reserve
champion English Breed Steer.
He also received a showmanship
kit from Cruetzburg & Son,
Malvern for being champion
junior division showman for
members ' under 14 years old.
Howard Stoltzfus, Glen Moore
exhibited the reserve champion
crossbred steer.
In the first year member
showmanship contest, William
Wylie, Nottingham was named
champion. Rachel Holloway,
West 'Chester, captured reserve
champion honors. David Wylie,
Nottingham was selected reserve
champion junior division
showman.

angus were shown in the English
division. Other breeds and
crossbred steers were shown in
the Crossbred Division. Within
each division steers were
grouped into classes based on
their weight. Steers were then
evaluated for their meat
producing characteristics.

Glen Moore.
