Area residents are urged to attend to help honor our Outstanding Young Fanners. The OYF contest is designed to recognize the importance of agriculture and the people in volved in it. Applicants will be judged by M. M. Smith, County Agent; Clifford Huffman, farm loan representative for Equitable Life; and Henry Wenger of Henry W. Wenger Insurance Agency, Quarry ville. Last year’s local winner, Robert Kauffman, placed first in State competition and represented Pa. at St. Paul, Minn, at the Nat’l OYF Awards Program. Bob will be giving a report of last years activities at the banquet. The winner of this years contest will be announced at the banquet and will represent Southern Lane. Co. in the state competition. The OYF Program has great support from local agribusiness who joined the Quarryville Jaycees, Chevrolet, and Frigidaire in honoring young men in the farming industry.
