Inflation for 1973 will average out to around 6 or 6.5 percent he said. Next year, though, Moore expects the rate to slow down somewhat to 4.5 to 5 percent. He said we've had inflation every year since 1947, and it doesn't look like we're going to eliminate it. Moore, too, sees adequate supplies of protein and feed grains, but doesn’t expect feed prices to fall much. World demand, spurred by burgeoning populations and fattening wallets overseas, shoud keep the price for all foodstuffs up. As for the near-term cattle price outlook, Moore said there are too many fat cattle in feed lots around the country to allow any real price recovery this fall. Consumer demand is a bigquestionmark, with some indications that consumers are choosing not to buy beef even when its abundant Moore feels there’ll be some price recovery in January to March as supply goes down 5 to 6 percent, but then the price will drop in April as supplies increase 12 to 15 percent. Beef prices will be great compared to recent years, Moore asserted, but profits will depend on feed prices TRY A CLASSIFIED AD PHONE 626-2191 or 394-3047 Lancaster Farming.
