Annville-Cleona High School, she
is currently a student at the
National Legal Secretarial
School in Hagerstown, Md. She
was sponsored by the Lebanon
Valley Poultry Association.
Six contestants competed for
the title, which is under the
auspices of the Pennsylvania
Poultry Federation. Contestants
are judged on appearance, poise,
personality, speaking ability and
industry knowledge. Judges
included Roger Conner, Director
of Public Relations, Hershey
Estates; Mrs. Pat Erway,
Women’s Editor for Lancaster
Farming, and Carl Crubic, Vice
President for the Harrisburg
Commonwealth National Bank.
“Mac” McCauley, announcer
with WCMB radio, served as
master of ceremonies.
Miss Early was crowned by
last year’s queen, Miss Marilyn
Jane Sowers, Fairfield, Adams
County, climaxing an evening
dinner affair at the Hershey
Motor Lodge.
Miss Early will represent
Pennsylvania’s poultry industry
throughout the year at various
state and regional functions.
