Rats
Rats seek more comfortable
homes during the early fall.
Cleaning up trash piles, stone
piles and junk helps in controlling
them. Also ratproofing buildings
helps prevent rats from getting
into food or feed, reminds Stanley
G. Gesell, Extension en
tomologist at The Pennsylvania
State University. See your county
Extension agent for further in
formation on rat control.

Compared with last week’s
close: closing prices slaughter
steers strong to 50 higher, heifers
25-50 higher. Cows still 3.00-4.00
lower after part of drastic early

Four day receipts 17,700 as
compared 13,800 previous week
and 17,800 a year ago. Slaughter
steers approximately 30 percent,

percent, and feeders near 20
percent including those con
signed for Friday auction. Fed
cattle trade showed a con
siderable degree of stability even
in the face of moderately ex
