Being junior 4-H queen has kept her busy, Cindy says, but she adds, “I like it a lot. I enjoy everything we do. We are meeting a lot of new people. It is keeping me busy and helping me gain self confidence.” She appeared on television with Marcy and in two parades. For National 4-H Club Week, she taped some public service messages for local radio stations. She said she feels perhaps the queens could really become spokesmen for 4-H if they could speak before groups which aren’t familiar with 4-H. Although she doesn’t have much time for hobbies, she said she enjoys reading and likes to cook. “I like to make my own concoctions, and I can make a full meal, but I usually only do that on special occasions. Her one desire is to get a new sewing machine for Christmas so that she can do some more sewing for herself. She says, “It saves a lot of money.” Asked how her family feels about her being 4-H queen, Cindy said, “They are very happy for me and feel it is a good ex perience for me.” Cindy has two Will older sisters, Patty 22, who lives at home, and Donna Hostetter who is a teacher at Grandview Elementary school in Mount Joy. She recently traveled to Hawaii with her parents and sister. The trip was quite an experience and Cindy said she loved flying, which was a first for her. Both Marcy and Cindy plan to stay in 4-H as long as they can, and they are enthusiastic about the rest of their reign as queens. With their poise and charm, they are certain to win friends and new members for Lancaster County as they make ap pearances throughout the year and spread the word about op portunities in 4-H. Speak
