the U. S. and 70 other countries.
Conducted by the National 4-H
Club Foundation in behalf of the
Cooperative Extension Service,
IFYE is called a “Tool for
Transition.” Through the in
fluence of IFYE alumni, the 4-H
idea has spread into nearly 80

bership now numbering 8 million.
Each IFYE participant visits
in a host country six months,
living and working with several
farm families.
Depending upon their home
countries, IFYE’s come to the
United States with a variety of
purposes in mind. They may be

economics, U. S. schools, use of
fertilizer, advancement of farm
