A united effort by 25 friends and neighbors
resulted in the harvest of 110 acres of corn
silage in one day last week on the farm of

vesters and 25 men helping with
the operation. Last Friday a
group of friends and neighbors
brought their harvesters, trac
tors and wagons to the Carl Bross
farm at RDI Myerstown,
Lebanon County at 7:00 a.m to
get the corn in and fill one upright
silo and a trench
Bross was injured about six
weeks ago when he was burning
brush and a large tree limb fell
off a loader and pinned him on his
tractor. He suffered a broken

and, although on the mend, he's not yet
able to drive a tractor.

The community effort to help
get the silage in was organized by
the Little Swatara Church of the
Brethren, chaired by Wilbur
Hershey and William Myer. The
ladies of the church assisted in
the all day job by providing lunch
for the workers.
